Adam & Jen = Hitched!

Adam, a childhood friend, married his perfect match, Jen this summer in his hometown of Summerside, Prince Edward Island.  The ceremony was stunning under an original structure designed and built by this architectural team.  Adam and Jen live and breathe creativity, a fact that was evident in every ounce of their wedding day.  From Jen's yellow sapphire engagement ring, hand crafted by Adam himself, to the old machinery strewn about the farm yard where they were wed, this day was a study in contrast.  Lace and twinkling lights adorned a rustic swing hanging from an old tree.  Grain and pearls mingled with artisan paper flowers in planter boxes around the farm yard.  The same flowers were used along with white hydrangeas and grain in the girls bouquets - and each flower in Jen's bouquet was made by Adam along with one tiny blue flower - something blue.  Intricate yellow flowers were hand-pressed by Jen's mother and painted onto her nails.  Jen's girls wore dresses in complementing shades of green, yet nothing was too matchy-matchy to showcase their individuality and personal style.  Mason jars and antique windows hung from old trees and swayed in the breeze.  Adam and Jen's intimate affair was stunning from the first kiss of the bride and groom to the last dance beneath the gorgeous uplighting of the wedding structure under a blanket of stars.  Have a look through their photos and catch a glimpse of the beauty I was blessed to see through the lens.  Adam and Jen - you two are amazing.  Wishing you a long, happy marriage to match :)
"A beautiful couple framed in a rustic farm homestead setting, where vintage glass, sterling, paper flowers and a yellow sapphire were all welcome." - Mother of the Groom
"Jen and Adam, and lots of family made hundreds of these paper flowers for arrangements. Jen is sooo visual; I couldn't imagine what they would look like, but add salal, wheat, baby's breath, and kermit pompoms and voila....a bouquet. We collected doilies and votives everywhere we went....and my mother supplied the green mason jars. The sterling we used belonged to my mom, Paul's mom, and my aunt in NB...All wedding gifts at their marriages, 55 + years ago." - Mother of the Groom

Mommy & Daddy, feat. Gavin

I recently discovered two things.

The first, and least important, is that Victoria Park in Charlottetown is like a little piece of heaven in an already charming little East Coast city.  I feel like I've been hiding under a rock - how did I not know the truth about this beautiful park!?  I suppose because I'm a country girl with room to roam, and originally hail from Summerside.  I'll definitely be taking the girls back for an adventure soon.

The second and most important thing I discovered is that I have a beautiful little cousin.  Sweet little Gavin is already six months old and we've only just met.  He is a handsome little sweetheart with dark lashes, perfect porcelain skin and a smile that can light up your life.  Pair this sweet babe with a mommy and daddy that are over-the-moon, bitten and smitten, and you can't help but get a photo shoot filled with love and happiness.  Pleased to meet you Gavin - I'll be back for my cuddles soon.

Prom Session: Amanda

Let's face it - it's always fun to be around pretty, filly dresses. This prom session from back in May was partly enjoyable for that very reason.  However, I also loved this photo shoot because I admire this girl so much.  I think we can all agree that Amanda is a stunning young woman who makes a beautiful graduate.  I can't wait to see where this life will take her.  Congratulations Amanda!  Stay strong... and go get 'em!

Summer Island Castaway

Remember summer days when you were a kid, roaming the beach looking for treasure, happily playing in the endless possibility of your young imagination?  These pictures bring me back to that place.  I can't think of a better way to do photos with a little boy on a hot summer day than an Island Castaway photo session.  "Boy Blue" was definitely ALL boy as he conquered this deserted Island beach, claiming shells, rocks and sticks as his treasure, hiding them away under his breezy shelter to join his sandy trucks and tractors.  What more could a boy want?  Blue skies, warm sand and water as far as the eye can see.  Summer days just don't get any better than this.  Have a great third year, Boy Blue - you're as sweet as you could be!
