Vintage Prince Edward Island Inspiration Shoot - As Seen in G! Magazine

Now that the May/June issue of G! Magazine is published I'm excited to finally reveal this inspiration shoot.  When my friend Robyn at Paper Swag was asked to do an article for G! she saw it as the perfect opportunity to collaborate on a full style spread featuring the work and products of many Island wedding vendors.  She immediately called Tracy Cash from Once Upon A Wedding and myself, and we jumped at the chance.  However, when we first discussed the idea I don't think any of us could have anticipated just how well it would all come together - or the fun we would have along the way!

Our goal in this shoot was to give brides inspiration on how to incorporate timeless, vintage charm while not straying from the fancy-fun romance of a spring/summer wedding... and of course we had to add a touch of glam!  This spread features incredible attention to detail - from custom hair pieces to a lace-trimmed cake and invites.  Milk bottles and pinwheels mix with pearls, ribbon and antique china to create a look that is Anne of Green Gables meets Raspberry Cordial... if you're an Anne fan that is!

Of course the best part of it all is that everything you see you can find here on PEI.  To decorate your event in current and beautiful style see Tracy at Once Upon A Wedding in Kensington.  Just step into her shop and you will see what a great eye she has for taking your event to the next level.  Robyn at Paper Swag can deliver the finest in custom stationary and perfect details to top off any affair.  Notice the creative beauty in her invites and table accents.  Do you like the hair and make-up you see here?  Hair stylist Lana Noonan and make-up artist Holly Ryder, both of Summerside, know how to pull off any look or style.  Think this charming cake looks good enough - or too good - to eat?  Check out Hailey at Hot Cakes PEI.  Whether you're in the market for flowers that are simple and classic, or something with a bit more flair, look to Bernadette's Flowers in Charlottetown.   And what about those custom hair pieces?  I nearly drooled when seamstress Elizabeth Miner from Something Special Sewing came in with these one-of-a-kind creations.  (Full vendor list and contact info listed below).

So take a look!  I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I did making them with this group of creative, talented, beautiful Island girls!

  1. There are many small lakes, rivers and Parks PEI's climate is normally milder than the mainland due to the warm waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence that surround it.
